Sailing the Grenadines: Ten Night Charter

Day 1
We suggest that you meet the boat at Rodney Bay Marina and sail south to spend your first night anchored at the bottom of the world famous Pitons. Maybe dine ashore that night in the Bang Bang Restaurant with the famous Lord Glencomer, who developed the island of Mustique.

Day 2
Make an early start and set sail to Wallillabou bay, St. Vincent. Where the famous film Pirates of the Caribbean was made. Spend the afternoon exploring the ruins of the castle - be Jack Sparrow for a few hours!. An idyllic, beautiful bay.

Day 3
Sail south and anchor in The Cut, by Young Island.Young Island is one of the oldest established island resorts in the Windwards. Dine next to their Shark pool!

Day 4
Time for some exciting sailing across the Bequia Channel to the gorgeous island of Bequia. Bequia is famous for its hospitality, racing regatta and boat building; It’s a lovely island with lovely people and some great restaurants.

Day 5
A short sail this morning brings you to the world famous island of Mustique. Home to many that live the reclusive millionaire lifestyle. A tiny exclusive island, try spotting the likes of Mick Jagger or Bono. Dine at Basil's Bar or really indulge yourself with some of the best food in the Windward's in the Cotton House.

Day 6
Make an early start and set off to the Tobago Cays – the most spectacular anchorage in the Windward Islands. The rich colours there are unbelievable – the blues, greens and deep turquoise of the water offset by the golds, browns and dark green of the islands. These are a small group of deserted islands fringed with golden beaches and crystal waters and protected by Horseshoe Reef, which offers amazing snorkeling. Quite the most perfect place – a real jewel.

Day 7
Set sail to Mayreau and Salt Whistle Bay, a tiny anchorage with a pristine beach that sweeps around in a majestic arc. The Salt Whistle Bay Resort is located just behind the beach. It has a charming, unique style and offers good food at a reasonable price. The snorkeling on Grand Col Point can be good and the beach offers safe, calm swimming. Unbelievable on a full moon night.

Day 8
A short sail brings you to Palm Island; spend the morning swimming and exploring the island and boutique. On then to Petit Martinique and Petit St. Vincent. Petit St. Vincent is an exclusive island resort, with tasteful stone cottages tucked into trees. The main building stands on a hill overlooking the anchorage and Petit Martinique. It makes great spot to have some of the wonderful Petit St. Vincent cocktails and watch the sunsets. The islands has lots of beach and is small enough to walk around - no crowds, cruise ships or calypso fire eaters - a wonderful place with a secluded romantic atmosphere.

Day 9
Petit Martinique is a unique – quite different to the usual tourist spots. The island people now live by boat building, seafaring & fishing. But, years ago the main occupation was smuggling! The men have reputation for being superb sailors and a number of Petit Martinique built wooden cargo vessels can be seen at anchor. Being unspoiled it’s an interesting place to explore The Palm Restaurant offers good, tasty meals served on tables under the thatched roofs at a reasonable price.

Day 10
Chatham Bay, Union Island, a fabulous undeveloped and secluded anchorage. Chatham Bay is an unusual small deep water bay, with steep sides, the acoustics are great for listening to Puccini or U2. Extremely romantic and perfect for that last lobster dinner and a bottle of icy champagne…

Day 11
Enjoy a leisurely sail south back to St. George’s, trawl a line on the way down and see what fish you can catch oven ‘Kick em Jenny’ a submerged volcano. Look for Diamond Rock, Isle de Ronde, Isle de Caille, Pelicans fishing and Boobies watching for the leftovers.

Of course this is only a suggestion, just to give a comprehensive sailing experience in different condition. It is just as easy to sail north from Grenada to the Grenadines and returning to Grenada. The islands listed could all be visited just as easy. Should you decide to spend some time in Grenada at the end of the trip.
