As you might have already guessed, the F-Pace is the production version of the 2014 C-X17, a concept crossover revealed with much fanfare at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. "The F-PACE is our family sports car," said Ian Callum, Jaguar’s director of design, who went on to describe the crossover as "a perfectly judged balance of style, performance and practicality." Details are still being kept under wraps as of January 2015, but the teaser showing a fraction of the F-Pace’s rear end confirms it is heavily based on the C-X17 Concept, which in turn is inspired by the F-Type sports car. In addition, JLR global sales director Andy Goss announced the F-Pace, which will be launched as part of the brand’s 80th anniversary, is being engineered and developed as we speak, with sales to commence sometime in 2016. Besides an exterior similar to the C-X17’s, we also expect the F-Pace’s interior to mirror the concept’s, sans the futuristic instrument panel. Under the hood, the F-Pace will most likely receive a range of four-cylinder, V-6, and V-8 units, with the latter to power the range-topping version aimed at the likes of the Audi RS Q5.

2016 Lincoln MKX Unveiled in Detroit

The GS F sits noticeably lower and wider than other GS models, resulting in a planted stance that, along with its front fender air outlets, forged 19-in. alloy wheels, and carbon fiber accents make it instantly recognizable as an F model. The rear is highlighted by a subtle carbon-fiber rear spoiler and trapezoidal tailpipes with four chrome exhaust tips that powerfully suggest that this car is meant to be driven hard. Inside the sheet metal, the GS F’s cabin is designed to exude the look and feel of a jet fighter’s cockpit.

Jaguar Teases F-Pace Crossover in Detroit

While Hayes gets all the attention, understandably so, his teammate, Cameron Beaubier, is no slouch on the racing seat either. Beaubier doesn’t have the credentials of Hayes, but he still has a long list of accolades to call his own, including his 2013 AMA Pro Daytona SportBike title, to go with three AMA Pro SuperBike wins, seven podiums, and two poles in his rookie season last year. As the team gears up for the start of the 2015 season, Yamaha took the all-too predictable road of introducing a documentary about the team’s preparations leading up to the season-opening race in Austin, Texas this April. This episode is particularly intriguing because it’s the first time Beaubier gets to ride the Yamaha YZF-R1 . Give the video a nice, long look and listen to what Beaubier has to say about his new ride after taking it for a private testing session at the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway.

Available adaptable full-LED front headlamps are subtly executed as blades, rather than projectors, aligned with the horizontal orientation of the split-wing grille.
